I’m in it now. I haven’t been back to church in two months. This time it wasn’t just one person. Basically the whole church gave up on me like I’m a plague. I feel this so much.

I realize after being church hurt. We all still live in this tent meaning we’re still human and we still make mistakes. The Lord still has me at this church and I’m stronger for staying.

It’s taken me years to realize this: you can still follow God and walk in love without a church building. I had to leave the walls that once broke me to find real peace. My faith didn’t die when I left if anything, it deepened. I no longer needed to perform or pretend for others. God’s not limited to stages, leaders, or routines. He meets us in silence, in pain, and in the raw moments of life. Don’t let religion convince you you’re less faithful just because you walked away from harm.

Would recommend the book The Bait of Satan by John Bevere it helped me overcome hurt from people and the church!

Beyond the numbers :
I bet it breaks God's heart as well, to see his children hurt that way. Especially in places where they were supposed to find healing. But it is possible! Church health over metrics
