It's REALLY hard in some regions for kids to find jobs once they turn 16. I have farm kids though, so they've had responsibilities for years, which has helped my autistic oldest

I’m a job coach / mom to a autistic child. I know if I want him to live in the real world on his own everyday I have to teach him how to do everyday things. My 4 year old knows how to do the dishes and laundry. Hopefully these skills will grow and he will be able to work as a dishwasher or in a laundromat.

TG is right. Our hesitancy to support neurodivergent kids going out of their comfort zone and into the workforce has done a great disservice to many and harmed their quality of life.

working with my families guidance really helped me in the workforce it's just the social expectations in a lot of interviews or in jobs that ruins it 😭

I can't hold an office job. I have my own small business doing dog walking/training/sitting. I also work part time in a toy store. Pay is terrible but I pay my rent.

I wanted a job in high school but nobody in my small town would hire me bc I'm visibly disabled in addition to being autistic.
