@dustinpoynter: LET THY CAMPAIGN SPREAD 💚 HOW TO HELP 👇🏻 the 9 companies with the most authority over emoji creation are: @Adobe, @airbnb, @apple, @Google, @Meta Quest, @Microsoft, @Netflix, Salesforce and Translated go to one (or all) of these companies’ socials, and comment on their most recent post: “WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND A GREEN FLAG EMOJI.” these companies are a part of the Unicode Technical Committee, the team that decides which new emojis are made. they meet quarterly to deliberate on new additions, so their next meeting is coming up. i am submitting a formal proposal for a green flag emoji, but we have to make some noise to show there’s a considerable amount of interest for this. if we can get their attention and get this thing approved, i will be donating a large sum to the charity of their choice. i’m also working on a shirt design for this to raise money for a charity of my own choice. more info on this later. but now is the time for action. let’s make this happen at long last. note: just before posting, i saw in an old blog post that the UTC discontinued the creation of new flag emojis back in 2022. but in the post they said that flags are a “rallying cry to be seen, heard, recognized and understood.” i say let them hear our rally cry. let our noise be the gear of change. maybe this will re-open the gates for other flag emojis to be made for countries and groups who are not yet represented. if you are a member of the UTC and want to reach out, please get in touch with me via email. #greenflags #emoji #foryou
