@ritzrants: It took me a while to feel good on my own, but it’s now my preference. A while ago, I made a conscious decision to not only get comfortable in my own skin, but also to challenge myself to be alone more. At first this was uncomfortable because I had always relied on my interpersonal relationships for happiness, and it felt wrong to want this. I felt trapped in my thoughts and different, and also guilty for being ok with being alone. I wasn’t always this way, but I think grief naturally made me desire a more personal relationship with myself. It encouraged me to know myself more deeply and to be at peace with being not only by myself, but ultimately my own best friend as well. I challenge you to do the same.
