I have an adhd question, if someone has a high iq and adhd, would some of the effects of adhd be mitigated to an extent? And would some be worsened?

This is simplistic at best and damaging at worst. I am 54, was bought up in rural Shropshire with no electricity or running water. I still struggled!

“Sometimes if you’re too confused and it’s too much, maybe you don’t need to know about it.” 2 years ago I decided to stop all social media and stopped watching TV. . It’s the best decision!

I agree, but it’s hard to look around at all the neurotypical people who aren’t as intelligent and haven’t worked as hard, be so much more successful (financially secure) than ND ppl scraping by

61 years I have had to deal with ADHD without diagnosis, without support. I feel like everyone knew but me and they all took advantage. I feel like I have been manipulated. I want to feel accepted.

@Feral 3K: No adhd is a disorder that doesn’t allow you to live a normal life, not a happy or successful life. Just normal.

Adhd is a disability. I’m not sure this is understood enough. People think it’s a personality type. It’s not just failure to thrive. It’s something that affects everything.
