SPOILERS FROM THE 1st BOOK We have to agree on desagree. The first book gave nothing and literally nothing happends. Every dangerous situaction was underwhelming because you now she will get out of them unharmed. The slow burn was non-existent because Luther and Diem don't properly interract on the 3 time the saw each other. And she descarded every oportunity to ask Luther about what happend to her mother because she forgets
