Japan had low interest bank loans. People borrowed yen to invest, Japan did a surprise interest hike, people had to sell and reconvert to pay their loans back, market tanked as a result.

My concern is that Goldman Sachs says it's a 25% chance and JP Morgan says a 50% that the US can go into a recession. That's not a small percentage.

Japans market dropped as well. Then roughly 19k tech layoffs just happened. New homes are sitting on the market. New vehicles are sitting on dealer lots too.

I heard it was people taking loans from Japan, investing that money and then having to sell immediately because the yen got stronger.

My first advice is to not panic. Panic & fear only create chaos. The market will stabilize. The market likes being a drama queen during bad world events. The fed should start cutting rates. Patience.
