@themedicarefamily: You can only draw Social Security on your spouse if ye is drawing his own Social Security. But you can draw off a former spouses work record once he turns age 62. He never has to draw his own Social Security
I’ve had several financial advisors tell me I can draw my ex-husband‘s benefits when I’m 62 (he is older than me) and switch to mine at 67. Is that not true?

I’m retired and my husband is divorcing me and not retiring at 65. I have no income and SS said he has to retire before I can receive any benefits. He said he’s not retiring till 72. I have no SS

I have an unrelated question I was hoping you could answer, I’ve asked other people and no one will answer for some reason. Why aren’t people under retirement age collecting SSDI(1)

So if I get 50 per event of my ex spouses and if he dies in the future before me !! So I get 100 💯 percent of his SS ?? Does it switch to that?

So if my ex-husband is younger than me, I could draw my Social Security until he turned 62? Is that correct?

I drew at 62 on mine because my ex-spouse didn't turn 62 until 6 months after I did. It's been a couple of years, is it too late?
