I dulled myself down for interviewers, presented myself more formal and more than 1 interviewer told me to not do that, they wanna see character and who the person is.. so which one is it?

I feel like this generation have been told that they should 'personalise' applications to stand out, but somewhere they've lost the professional tone. Also emails/online Vs letters are more casual.

I wasn’t taught how to do any of this in school 10 years ago, I was however capable of googling how to write a CV, cover letter, etc. There are literal templates online of how to do all of this ><;

I’m the first one in my family to do a ‘professional’ job. I hate to think what my cv/cover letter looked like. When I see stuff like this, I realise how we really need to be teaching this at school.
