@themedicarefamily: How much Social Security you can draw off your spouse or ex spouse’s work record, is NOT impacted if he draws earlier than his full retirement age or draws later!
OK, I'm a little confused on this one Sylvia. If my ex draws has 62 and quits working cause he retired. If he's not paying in into it, how is it gonna be more at 67 for me to get more?

My mom was told she would get half of my diseased dads ss. They both received the same amount before he passed. She didn’t get any of his. Her ss is the same. Why? Thanks

Married 18 yrs. Divorced 12 yrs ago. He’s remarried & I’m not. Can I draw on my ex-spouse when we are both 62 (in 4 yrs) & I keep working full time til 67 when I retire & draw my own ss & give up his?

My mom is 83, married to my dad for 20 years, never remarried. He remarried. He died in ‘22. Learned ex spouse benefit from you. SS would only calculate amount based on the amount he took at 62 yrs.
