Cosplayers tend to be in cosplayer exclusive zones! Plus since comiket became so expensive many just prefer to go to "Tonari no cos" thats held at the same time and next to big sight

You have to utilize separate accommodations to get into your costume/makeup, store your street clothes & then change back when you cosplay at Japanese cons. Could be reason for the price diff!

A lot of cons here in the U.S. will give cosplayers a discount or free badge if they enter the costume contest or host a cosplay panel!

US cons are crazy long 😂 most are 3 days long, while others are 2 days or 4 days long and events run until 2-3 am in the morning. Most people cosplay as well.

It's wild that cosplayers have to pay triple when they seem to be a huge draw for photogs? Like do they charge for photos? That's the only way I can imagine justifying the price gouging.
