I do staffing at a nursing home for CNAs if they let me know 2 weeks in advance I don't care if they let me know the day before I ask them to ask someone to trade a shift with them, if they call in I try to find coverage if I can't I just come in and work their shift. don't even ask why they need the day off.

Me calling out sick? I have to tell them 2hrs in advance. So my shift 7:30. I must wake up before 5:30am to call on sick. I wake up at 6:15am to prepare for wrk. Make it make sense.

As a manager after I make the schedule its your responsibility to get a shift covered if you need a day off. If you call out for the same day shift that’s my responsibility to get it covered.
