@alexandremiwren: what would you do if a child ran into your house🫣 a strange afternoon for me but oh well😂 let me know if you have had any similar situations😅 my fence isn’t going to connect to my side door so today i’ve requested for an extension of it to include a passage way from my side door to the new back garden fence but we will see😅😅 #singlemum #councilhouse #councilhouserenovation #renovation #councilhouseintohome #motherhood #reno #toddler #councilhousetransformation #garden #gardenreno #gardeninspiration #gardentransformation

As a parent of a severely autistic child if my child sees something he wants or somewhere he wants to go he’ll go so if door was open he wouldn’t understand he can’t go in. But you handled it right x

As a sen mum you handled perfectly. But definitely put that fence up as you and Remi deserve peace of mind. And the neighbours child shouldn’t be coming in your house regardless of additional needs.

As an SEN mum to a child that has got in a neighbours house (who he knows) you’re helping the neighbours at the same time by putting a fence up. I’d be grateful.

Move the fence! If it’s your property and they’ve already pushed limits with the kids then you’ve got rights and reasons 😂♥️

my neighbour has a child who was autistic and non verbal, a few times he would run out of his door open my door, get himself an ice pop and then he would sit on my sofa get the remote and chill 😂

Mum of NV ASD child, move your fence. They should want it moved too as that’s a danger for their child if he can get out and wander 😢 you did the best thing for him x

You handled it very well. If the child is non-verbal, there could have been so many wrong ways, but this was kind, and I'm sure the mom was grateful.

As a mum of a NV ASD child. The bigger fence would actually help me! I have locks and high fences all the way round my house. Even put an extra 6 foot bamboo screen at the bottom of my garden

I would move it because when your child is older you’ll be able to open the door and them go into the garden safely as I take it the side door is your access to your back garden x

At the end of the day, fences are to secure your property, if your neighbours left their gate open, then anyone could get into your garden x

As the parent of an autistic Son I take offence to the comments you made about not wanting him looking around your house. If he has severe autism he has no interest in what’s in your house he probably

As a mum of a very nosy daughter with autism, once she’s crossed a boundary it’s very hard to go back; in her mind if she’s allowed once, that’s it forever. Get that gate/fence up asap!

I’m confused about how moving the fence will open up your garden. Wouldn’t it just make it narrower?

You need a storm door. Don’t you Brits have storm doors? They are all glass (you can put a screen on in summer) or half metal half glass that is first door then the regular door.
