It's interesting because in the UK Religious Education is taught in all schools religious or not. However, in those lessons a mix of different religions are taught including their texts, rules and histories but with a goal to educate, not lead the children one way or another.

I taught about world religions as a historical topic in a 7th grade history class in a Catholic school. It can be done, but has to be in context AND other major religions must be included.

It’s also a qualification issue. Most general education teachers are not qualified to teach theology to children. I wouldn’t want a mechanic teaching me how to fly a plane if they weren’t qualified to

Sooo. They support the curriculum with the same fidelity that they release relevant training for teachers to address the STAAR test changes- I’m not optimistic about Morath being realistic about this
