The reason is often with Country and EU copyrights. A lot of titles(or direct translations) are already taken or some people buy them before the distributor can and then try to get money for it.

i think we translatet most of the movie titles for tge older generations who dont know english well, dont know why so different tho. dont think its as bad as people say.

I'm from Germany and sometimes i don't even understand the German titles. "Captain America: The winter solider" was named "The Return of the first Avenger" in Germany 🤦

Some of these are not the actual titles, but the sub-titles (haha). É.g. Twilight is still known as “twilight” in German, and the “Biss Zum Morgengrauen” is more like a tag or byline.

Just two things, "bis" means until, but it sounds the same as "Biss", which means bite. Also, it’s "a twin rarely comes alone", not "along"
