@farmhouseish: DRAWER WITHIN A DRAWER 🤯 One side DONE! I’ve been working on a quick closet update before I add new floors in here and got inspired to add more storage. It started with a shoe cabinet. Then upper cabinets that I made “glass” doors for (I used sheets of acrylic). Then I decided to add some extra drawers. And by extra I mean EXTRA! For the deeper drawer, I added a hidden drawer compartment. I basically built a drawer box but made one side 1.5” shorter & installed the drawer base 1.5” up to match. Then I built a second tiny drawer box to fill that empty space. Make sure your drawer slides are full extend or plan accordingly so your hidden drawer opens. I installed the tiny drawer into the bigger drawer first, then installed the larger drawer. I used a 1x2 to cover the hidden drawer that matched the main drawer side. I added my slides strategically where the trim split so you can’t even tell it’s a drawer when it’s closed!! I mean unless you’re laying on the floor but who’s gonna do that? 😅 HOW COOL IS THAT? I also spray painted curtain rod holders and 1” dowels for custom hanging rods & added beautiful brass fluted hardware. Next, we give the island a makeover to match and work on that back wall!
