Maybe you can teach him to deep clean. Just as a skill to have and a routine to implement that’ll hopefully carry on to adulthood.

I get it! I always made my kids clean their rooms every week. Also wash their bedding every week and vacuum. Deep cleaning I do

Have him help you and walk him through the process so he know the value of hard work or at least he needs to pay you. I did my kids if they didn’t keep it cleaned. I charged them!
