@lisaremillard: #rx #prescription #bigpharma 10 of the most common prescription drigs just saw a price reduction between 40% & 80% thabjs to Medicare finally being able to directly negotiate prices with the pharmaceutical industry. The government says this move will save American taxpayers $6 billion!
These prices are still insane, even with the negotiated price. I don’t understand how a pharmaceutical company can charge someone this kind of money knowing especially how bad our economy is.

If that’s the max Medicare will pay out, will the excess not fall on the consumer? Maybe that’s not how this works, idk 🤷🏻♀️

if these are brand name drugs it's probably meds that have a manufacturer discount card that you can't use while on gov INS. 😭 it helps! but it's still not enough.

Does that mean they’re just paying the gap or they negotiated a significantly lower price like an insurance company does?

Also- does that mean those not on Medicare but work sponsored insurance - they can't charge them more to make up the loss? will we get the same negotiated prices?
