As someone in recovery, I know you’re planning on moving her into your grandma’s place, but just be careful. There’s a reason, that after we get clean, we do sober living. I just think living alone

I get so nervous about her living alone. I jkow yall need your own space back but she's not in the clear yet! It takes at least a year before she'll start to really be herself again or he able to stay

Hi. I have a suggestion.if she keeps talking and trying to convince you of what she thinks, just say “I hear what you’re saying “. It doesnt mean you agree but usually stops the rant.

Is her liver functioning well? Sometimes the build-up of ammonia due to the liver not working can cause confusion.

Are you able to talk to the psychiatrist without your mom around? She might not be telling him everything that she’s thinking because of the paranoia

keep a journal of all the times this happens. it will help the psychiatrist and you in the long run. times, dates, what was said, severity of the incident. I promise it will help

I’m so sorry. Watching some of this i feel like I’ve lived it. My mum wasn’t an addict but lived in squalor but my brother was an addict and the same type of psychosis. He’s now sober and about ..

I’m assuming mom has been diagnosed? There is a mouth swab Dr can do that will tell the Dr what medication would work best with her body instead of having to do trial and error to stabilize her.

You are so amazing! I just went through this with my husband. It takes time for the brain to heal. He was constantly believing that someone was trying to sabotage him. He’s finally out of it and clear

Along with a psychiatrist, it’s important to just have regular counseling. You should be able to set them up on Zoom if possible. I live in Missouri and that’s what I do. Good luck.

It WILL be ok. My sister and I have been thru this. It took a long time but you will be ok, even tho it doesn’t seem like it will ever change. I’m more like my sisters mama (even tho I’m younger).
