@toreishi_san: A friend from Japan told be to do some research about why there are no public trash bins in Japan - - and the actual reasons had me shocked (also, I heard about this on a recent podcast, which intrigued me). To prevent any repeat acts that would harm the public, trash cans & bins were removed to prevent attacks like this, as well as potential bomb attacks….. After that happened, the Japanese got extremely sensitive against unknown objects left in stations, and all trash cans immediately disappeared from the stations. It disappeared from the streets and all public places (also within a few weeks). Although, with present times, they have steadily been making a comeback, in select areas of the city. For the record, back in 1995, devout followers of a doomsday cult carried out simultaneous attacks, killing 13 and injuring thousands. Aum Shinrikyo, the man who founded the doomsday group and masterminded the horrific act, was executed, along with several of his zealots, on July 6th, 2018. #japan #tokyo #facts #japaneseculture #retro #japanesehistory #sarin
