@alfiecooks_: TOMATO + BASIL FOCACCIA SANDWICH 🍅 when you find a tomato that weighs a whopping 1kg in Italy, there’s only one thing to do…🇮🇹 MAKE A TOMATO SANDWICH 🍅🍅🍅 sometimes it’s the simple things in life that provide most pleasure…a gargantuan, locally grown Italian tomato. bought for €8, so I knew I needed to enjoy it properly + pay it some serious respect 🙏 simply sliced into a big juicy steak-like piece, salted, then placed in between sliced + toasted focaccia - drizzled with extra virgin olive oil + rubbed with garlic of course 🧄 fresh basil leaves used like lettuce, cracked black pepper, then simply sliced - that’s all. enjoyed with an Italian sunset view - I’ve never had a tomato sandwich like it 😍 whilst tomatoes are still in season this summer, why not give it a go?
