I make it way different. 1kg chosen frozen hashbrowns. 2 tins mushroom soup. 2 cups sour cream. 2 cups cheese. (add white onion to taste. I leave it out.) mix. put in dish. cover with more cheese.--

We just call this hash brown casserole. Never used butter before. Usually it's cream of chicken soup and cream of mushroom soup.
