For those asking, a free kick is an option after a fair catch. It’s rare, since punts are typically kicked further, and teams want to try for TDs, but once in a while, HS & below this happens.

from my understanding from playing hs and college football at least where i play is if its the end of the half or game and you have a timeout. You can ask the officals for a freekick

A free kick is a kick off a scrimmage kick is a field goal. A team can fair catch a punt and then lineup in a free kick (kickoff rules) and kick a field goal. It’s a rule in high school and NFL .
