@moreperfectunion: Americans overwhelmingly oppose corporate monopolies and believe big businesses have amassed too much power and influence, according to a major new poll of seven geographically diverse states commissioned by More Perfect Union Foundation. The 81 percent of likely respondents who said they were concerned that corporations were becoming too powerful were indicative of a clear populist backlash against what three-quarters of respondents called an economy that has been rigged for the elites and wealthy. There was broad bipartisan concern with corporate power, from 92 percent of Democrats, 81 percent of independents, and 71 percent of Republicans. The survey, conducted by GQR, polled 1,400 respondents in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina. #labormovement #corporategreed #labor #workersrights

Except politicians buy and sell stock in the very companies they’re supposed to be regulating.

There is a limit on awareness because there is also a massive deficit in effect. A lot of these programs are not doing nearly as much as they need to

stats are often manipulated to misrepresent info. particularly in cases where a lot of profit exists. None of these stats cite sources.

These are the issues they need to campaign on. This would actually show what the government has done. But noooo we have to cater to the swing states.

Compelling, investigating, asking.... a government of the people could just force the changes necessary for a better society. This just reveals who is really in charge.

No they don’t. Any government oversight and regulation is “communism.” Not that the government would actually do it though. They’re all bought and paid for. It’s a song and dance

because “taking steps” means nothing with the government. They have no real financial motive to change anything. especially when the supreme court shuts everything down

We need penalties to be increased drastically and laws that allow meaningful action to be taken. Loopholes closed, fines raised to meaningful levels ideally based on percentages of corp profits.

Support by the top 10% of earners has a linear relation to whether federal policy passes, support by the 90% rest of the population has no statistically significant effect (google the princeton study)
