speaking from experience, a belt is a great option in an emergency. sure you need to hold it to keep it tight. but it is great when a tourny is not immediately available

you can use fabrics like t shirts and rope and other material, you just need something to stick in between it to rotate to make it tighter.

The first aid course I was just on taught us to use a lot of those things if you don’t have access to an actual tourniquet

a tie, belt or similar paired with a hard stick like object to twist it tighter is perfect
