I don’t ever want to be more protective of my girls than my boys. I want my boys to be just as pure in their relationships as my girls are. We are raising our boys to treat women with respect and value them for who they are not what they look like. And we are teaching our girls to know their worth and to expect to be treated as valuable. We are teaching our children to cherish their temples and save them for their spouses. To remain pure until marriage. And our expectations are the same for our boys and our girls. I’ve been thinking a lot about the purity culture from when I grew up. I’m personally grateful for it because it helped keep me pure for my husband. But one thing it got wrong was preventing the behavior but not changing the heart. That’s what happens when we set rules without explanations. That is exactly why we have so many homes saturated in the bondage of p**n. They might be able to control their physical affair but their hearts are in bondage of lust. That’s why Jesus said it’s no longer just okay to not have an affair but we shouldn’t even look at another person with lust. It’s one thing to fight temptation and another thing to be freed from it. When our hearts change, we love God and people and ourselves too much to taint our minds and bodies with sinful lusts and desires. The desires of our flesh no longer hold us in bondage. We aren’t just setting standards in our home, we’re teaching a love for Christ that breaks chains and changes hearts. #family #faith #blessed #11kids #thecollinskids #motherhood #raisingarrowsforchrist
