You have to check for pulse distal to brocken bone after you splint the ankle otherwise the would be ischemic

Can a sam splint go through an xray? I feel like it would be better to use the cardboard boot and some towels because xray is going to be one of the first things the doc is gonna want after transport

Not gonna lie. I’ve been doing this for a while and always only used SAM splints for long bones or wrists. Just parts that are anatomically straight. I never would’ve thought of this. So much better
