Damn fine job but why wood filler? Would it not have been more effective to rout out the broken area around the truss rod and fit a piece of maple/mahogany? No hate at all, just curious.

I would prefer to patch the eaten area with a piece of wood rather than using wood putty! It is rather possible to pop or collapse when there’s a difference in tempature!
