@shotsavant: Why I always wear a hat 🧢… I have felt ugly since I was a little kid… Idk why but that’s how I feel. I feel ugly. And you might say, “ no, you’re not”. But I won’t believe you, and I know someone of you understand that feeling. Lately things have been changing for me. I am learning to feel beautiful again. 🫂🪞 I am short, bald, and grew up poor, these are the words I would always tell myself. I used these words to hurt myself. When I was 21 years old I started to go bald 🧑‍🦲. My family and friends told me to go get hair transplant surgery. This was a very scary moment in my life. I am from Afghanistan 🇦🇫 born and raised in Kabul city and came here as a refugee. I didn’t have money 💰 to get food 🥘 let alone hair surgery. I remember being 21 years old looking in the mirror 🪞 and saying to myself , “ okay.. your ugly, short, and poor, but you can me a good person and help others and that can be enough.” So I accepted the fact that I was ugly!! I made a promise to myself that I would be the most out going, funny, kind, and nice person I can be. that way I could earn the love of my peers. So if you see me with a hat on, you can judge me, I honestly don’t care 🤷‍♂️ I have said things to myself that are beyond cruel, your insults can’t hurt me. My mind is a battlefield far worse than your cute insults. Learning to love myself has made me strong 💪 and this is the best I have felt in a very long time. For anyone going bald 🧑‍🦲 or dealing with insecurities, learn to love yourself will be the best thing you can do.
