I start mine in the microwave & then finish in oven, cuts down the time & I like that crispy crust the oven gives it

I do that but microwave 5 min and then turn over for additional 3 or 3 and done to perfection. I also rub the salt and oil

Try kosher salt and olive oil then bake, the kosher salt I think is better..

I don't care how it looks the thing I noticed is that if it isn't baked in the oven the microwave takes away alot of the taste of the potato.
