@9reaction: I was a very young girl (probably the youngest amidst all the akkas) when I was introduced to the enchanting world of Karanas under the direct guidance of the great legend, Paduakka and her ingenuity🙏🏼 At that age, I did not understand or know enough to bifurcate or see differences between the Adavus and Karanas and they seamlessly became a part of my vocabulary, my dancing body. To date, I don’t think of them as some different kind of movements. This has helped me avoid the forceful inclusion of them in choreographies to bring “newness”and letting them involuntarily flow into my choreography as though intertwined with my soul. My choreographies have always been an exploration of both Adavus AND Karanas but it has always been an uphill climb given that during my early years, as I tried to build my career decades back, I was derided and rebuked for dancing this way - More on that later 🙂… Hope you enjoy this small segment of my choreography for the evergreen Tamil movie song ❤️ #adavu #karana #dancemovements #dance #bharatanatyam #dancer #bharatanatyamdancer #trendingvideo #trendy #trends #trendingsong #dancersoftiktok #kerala #spirituality #spiritualtiktok
