@justinveenema: So many plot twists 😂 I met Iris and Brian in Gastown. I saw them taking photos of each other in front of the steam clock, so I asked if they would like a photo together. And at first, they said no. 😳 I never want to push someone to participate if they REALLY don’t want to do it… But I could see how much fun they were having before I approached them… so I had a feeling like they might actually enjoy it! I showed them my project, and after a little hesitation, they agreed to let me take their portraits. 🎉 They’re visiting all the way from Georgia and were celebrating their first year of marriage—so I knew this would be a special shoot! Listen to their love story about how they met (starts at 0:38). Once we got started, we all couldn’t stop laughing. 😂 One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from photographing couples is that helping them feel comfortable and letting them be themselves leads to the best photos. My face hurt from smiling so much throughout this session. I’m so happy they took the leap to say yes! 🙌 — 📍 Gastown, Vancouver BC — #streetphotography #streetportraits #coupleportraits #strangerportraits #streetphotography #couplegoals #travelportraits
