Not their job to take care of your kids. My mother paid my grandma a weekly salary to watch my brother and I from 9-5. If we're talking just a visit or an hour or two to run errands. That's different.

I’m a grandma but I ain’t old enough to retire and once I do retire I am not your built in babysitter Monday-Friday! I paid for daycare so the F&$! can my kids!

I did not want to get paid to watch my granddaughter. I didn’t retire for my job to be a babysitter. Once in a while is OK, don’t act like obligated to watch your child.

My Mama insisted on paying my Grandparents for watching me while she and my Daddy worked because she needed them to be available every day. BUT, that was her choice, not my Granny's wishes.

if I ask my mom before she passed to watch my children I gave her something anyway, even if she said No i wont charge you for my grands,I had to pay somebody in daycare...so why not help her..

I am old-school I don’t want to be paid to watch my grandchildren. What I do want is when you bring the gbabies over make sure you bring extra snacks, food, drinks and I’m cool.

I'm a grandmother but I work. grandfather died 2 years ago. So it's just me. I have 3 under age 8. I help, cook, spend time for free. my grandparents watched mine for love and fun. it wasn't a job.
