Thank you for speaking out!! Sometimes we are afraid to advocate because the medical staff or doctors will chart is a “hostile” or having a psychological disorder instead of a real medical issue

As a Rad, I try to explain to all ER docs. X-ray and CT can give a false negative for fractures. If pt continues to hurt, spiny and repeat in 7-10 days. Fracture will usually manifest at that time.

As a nurse with a DNP, I do this all the time and it challenges them since I dont always fit in their typical boxes of problems-then I’m labeled as a “Difficult patient” 🙄

I knew that I had broken my back, I felt the pops, it was HORRIBLE! The ER doctor said he thought I was just trying to score drugs, but reluctantly did an xray. T11, T12 compression fractures

We just had to do this with an NP for an MRI, which she wasn't gonna give, but we needed. Turns out, there's a disc herniation, which we knew. Like, come on.

I specifically asked an anesthesiologist to not use Aprepitant as it doesn’t work on me (Zofran does). He ignored me. I woke up barfing.

Thank you for this. My daughter has a severe allergy to soy. She did not want to have propophol (sp) because the PDR book says it is not necessarily a good mix. The anesthesiologist became irate.

Always happens! Once I broke my ankle they said it’s sprain until I got MRI, second I had grade 4 syndesmosis tear that they said no need for surgery it’s mild, and done surgery cuz it was severe !

My mom was gaslit by a few docs saying she had copd, she had a softball sized mass in her chest and died 2 weeks after someone took her seriously. 😐

I keep getting pneumonia and drs say lungs sound clear X-ray looks fine. Incidentally, have high d dimer so they do ct scan and oops! Looks like I have pneumonia after all! Several times!
