drivers needs to update the dispatcher earlier so the dispatcher update the broker accordingly otherwise it will ruined the long term built relationship.

And there are situations when drivers start accusing dispatchers for being sanctioned for late pickup/delivery, that dispatchers could not resolve disputes for the favour of the drivers(((

Same happen to me we got a lane from tampa fl to Norfolk VA in 2000$ we are supposed to cover this load every week and we lost it because of the driver is not on time its completely driver fault he suppose to be there before 2pm and i confirmed him twice and he says we are ok with the pickup time and after 3 hours he told me he will be there by 3pm i notify the broker and we lost that load

idk your specific situation, but as a driver/dispatcher, the only time I'm ever late is when it's literally out of my control. receivers holding me in a dock for several hours, typically is the reason

Absolutely reliability, paired with communication. If there is a problem, communicate it. It’s trucking, things go wrong. Do everything in your power to be reliable, communicate when you can’t.

You should know the driver’s personality. I’ve worked with a driver for almost two years, and he is never on time. He is allergic of being on time!

I work for a broker in EU, yeah, reliability is key! 75% of our loads never go on the board, we value relations with carriers, the bigger margin from the board is short time profit, consistency is key
