my great grandfather's feet stunk so bad that he was not allowed to take them off at church under threat of an actual ban we never found out what was wrong with him but after about a month or two after he passed I went on a date with this girl who worked at the crematorium and she talked about this old guy that went through the furnace and stunk up the place so bad they couldn't use it for about a week and that the think it was his feet she was really sweet and nice and I tried like three more dates with her but I couldn't get over the embarrassment😭

the hospital I worked at made that mistake once with a homeless guy that was in there one winter. pulled the shoe off, just for us to end up purely smelling infection and decaying flesh.

Had an elderly diabetic patient in Pre-op who was crying & apologizing because he knew his foot would come off when we took his shoe off & he didn’t want us Nurses to be upset. 😭
