@occupationalemily: Replying to @Erin Interoception plays a huge role in helping children learn to regulate their emotions and avoid tantrums! 🧠Teaching interoception skills is as simple as pointing out to your child what their body is feeling. 👊 “I notice that your fists are clenched and your heart is beating quickly. Sometimes it feels that way when we are angry. Let’s take a walk with mom to cool off.” We can also pair this with a tool like the books from @Team Supercrew to help expand a child’s understanding of their feelings. #emotionalregulation #tantrums #toddlers #momlife
my daughter has these books memorized because we read them every night. we have conversations about it, etc. but there has been ZERO carry over to real life.

Adult here that was terrified of consequences as a child! (Still suppress and bottle as an adult 🙃) What a great tool for littles! ❤️

Do you have tips on how to apply this in an early childhood classroom? Very hard to have a full conversation.
