competing brokerage companies can figure out who a customer is sometimes based on cities and some specific lanes and so it can be a way to try and protect a brokers customer base

I had a load from tn co Canada one day, no budget, end of day had to deliver Monday without fail, can load sat, I had to post a load from San Antonio, 800 miles away, convince the guy to deadhead,

Broker told me once it's done to get more hits from carriers looking for loads. And sometimes so the rate per mile looks more lucrative than it actually is

TQL do this the most. Plus when you’re looking for a loadout trailer.

It’s also about the coverage, sometimes your dead head is less a couple miles for the particular load to pop up in the search list

safety is the first thing they think about and nowadays freight hostage is growing up horribly, I as a broker had been using a lot of possible ways to prevent it

It's probably a double blind load from a distributor

Honestly it’s just so we can post loads still without the customer seeing that it’s their load on the load board.

Maybe so the customer doesn’t know how much money exactly his load is posted for. Just to protect them from angry customers that don’t want to pay broker fee 😅👌

Could be a blind load issue. Seems unlikely though. More likely so that the broker can protect their customer from competition

Typically it’s to make it easier for people to call in on loads. For instance I have loads going to McCalla Alabama. I’ll post it going to Birmingham since it’s easier for people to know where that is

Customers can’t see it. But also, makes it harder to call shippers of the same commodity to find that shipper

TQL is trained to do exactly this , they use the best , largest city to get the person with the truck on the phone .... how many times do you hear , " we just booked that one, but have this one similar "
