Lake Como is among the best places to visit in Italy and if you’re planning to visit it, here 8 places that are absolutely a must do! ♥️🇮🇹 1) Varenna: this town is my favourite of Lake Como, it’s so charming and picturesque 💚 Make sure to go to the Walk of Lovers, the Port with its beautiful waterfront restaurants and bars and visit the stunning villas located here (further into the list) 2) Villa Monastero: located in Varenna, you can visit the Villa itself and its botanical garden. I’d highly recommend it for its botanical garden, which offers some of the most stunning views of the Lake. Make sure to get the combined ticket with Villa Cipressi (the villa next door) 3) Villa Balbiannelo: is a gorgeous villa located in the town of Lenno. To reach I recommend using the water taxi and my favourite part is its garden. You can also access the inside of the villa, the tour is about the last owner of the villa and its adventures. Personally, if you have limited time I’d skip it and only see the garden. Also if this Villa looks familiar, it might be because it was featured in Star Wars and Casino Royale 4) Villa Cipressi: located in Varenna, this villa is actually a luxury hotel, but you can visit its botanical garden. Again make sure to get the combined ticket with Villa Monastero, definitely worth visiting both 🥰 The best time to visit for me is mid-April, so you can see the wisteria located across the garden 5) Villa Melzi: located in Bellagio, its botanical garden is among the largest of the Lake. It’s not possible to visit the inside of the villa as it’s still private, but the garden is definitely worth a visit 6) Orrido di Bellano: it’s a stunning natural gorge located in Bellano, it formed over 15 million years ago! It takes about 15 minutes to visit as it’s quite small, but nice to see especially if you have more than one day in Lake Como 7) Villa Olmo: located in the town of Como, it’s a public park which can be visited for free.
