To make matters worse, the CPU appeared to have been cracked open, showing visible damage and a large notch from being pried apart. Testing the motherboard revealed a leakage of about 7mA, with the CPU in a short-circuit state, signaling its demise. Despite these setbacks, professional ethics compelled me to continue the repair process. After thorough cleaning and replacing the damaged CPU and upgrading the RAM from 8GB to a brand new 12GB module, something miraculous happened - the phone began to show signs of life! The boot logo appeared, the system interface loaded, and touch functionality was restored without any screen damage. But the challenges weren't over. There was still a 3mA leakage issue, which I traced back to two chips next to the CPU sealed with glue. Removing and resoldering these chips eliminated the leakage, ensuring the phone's functionality was fully restored. After reinstalling all components, including the camera, and applying additional thermal paste to the CPU, the phone was finally working perfectly. This repair was a testament to the intricate and unpredictable nature of smartphone repairs. Sometimes, it's not just about technical expertise but also about a bit of luck. Witnessing a seemingly irreparable phone come back to life was incredibly satisfying and reminded me why I love what I do.
