@growithjessie: I always wanted to hatch chickens…so I made it happen. In 3 weeks, we’ll have 22 baby chicks!🐣 If you remember when we hatched ducks…the farmer actually mistakenly gave me duck eggs, and in that moment I knew I still wanted to make my dream of hatching baby chickens come true (even though the ducks were AMAZING). SO…we’re going to incubate the eggs and once they hatch we’ll raise the chicks for 7 days, and then bring them back to the farm to live out the rest of their lives in nature. And don’t worry…these chicks are NOT meat birds. They are strictly farm birds. So there will be NO chickens harmed in this amazing process! That was the most important part to me - that no chick gets harmed and that the babies live amazing lives at the farm after hatching. We’ve got a variety of eggs…from: - D’uccles - a bantam mini breed from Belgium with feathered legs. - Silkies - a bantam breed with dark skin from Asia and are said to look like penguins. - Cochins - a bantam breed with yellow tints and feathers down the leg also from Asia. - Seremas - the smallest breed of chicken in the world from a tiny egg and has bare legs. - Polish chicks - a tuft on the head with light caramel colour and no feathers on the leg, also looks like Elvis! - Golden laced wyandotte - a bantam bird from a light brown egg, stunning feathers of copper with dark lacing or trim! So if you’re as excited as I am..stick around for the journey to witness the beautiful life cycle of a chicken! This will bring me closer to my dream of owning a farm. 💚🐣 #chicken #farm #eggs #breakfast #excited
