Why is no one mentioning the storm just to the east of Milton? That storm attempted to form an “eye” as well. What is Milton absorbs the storm to the east? Sold my place in FL in 2020.

staying and riding it out with my 7 cats in Tampa. this one is the only hurricane thats somewhat worried me since moving to tampa in 2022. we usually don't get hit esp with major hurricanes

Serious question, why would it get lesser. I thought when they're out in warm waters they get bigger as we are seeing why are they saying it's going to be less than a 5 if it's a 5

We were without power in Daytona Beach for three weeks when Charlie hit in 2004. It hit on the west coast in Punta Gorda and exited in Daytona on the east coast. It was awful.

As for Atlantic based hurricanes (that includes the gulf and Caribbean, there have been 42 category 5 hurricanes. And before newage technology, many were missed or not recognized, due to lack of tech

In Croatia, we have wind bura blowing every winter Aprox. between 130 miles per hour and 196 miles per hour. It's blowing minimum 5 to 10 times per year. Out houses are built to handle this wind.

With the way they can measure these storms now, they can always find winds that will get it to cat 4 or 5, even though that won’t be experienced on shore. They need to change the rating system.
