In an evacuation they should be using both sides of the main highways to go outbound so more traffic can leave the area. Any inbound should be routed on lesser traveled roads.

I don't understand why they don't open up a few south lanes to allow more traffic north and set up gas tankers every 10 miles or so billed to FEMA.

Traffic is always slammed going northbound every work day going to Tampa. I'm sure it's worse but once rush hour is over it will get better.
