@myrthenaa: Victober Week 1 - The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (very short book review๐) โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ I didn't think Helen was a very believable character, but the book's structure made for a very interesting build-up! Also as the Brontรซs were children of a clergyman it was fun reading how Anne wrote Helen's character, in her dialogues she has these very unique ways of excusing her husband's behavior and rationalizing her own, and although she wakes up from that dream of a perfect marriage and being a perfect wife it was kind of confusing that she went back to him thinking she could fix him (๐ญgirl please). Also Gilbert is a stalker to me. He was quite scary. This novel wasn't romantic at all. But I loved the theological discussions veiled as a girl's little dreams of perfect wifehood... Charlotte Brontรซ didn't want this novel published and I could see why! ๐๐๐ Here's a comic I made out of one of the moments in the book where we finally see Helen stand up for herself. hope you are all having a great October! #thetenantofwildfellhall #englishliterature
