Korban dimintai uang sebesar Rp35 juta, tapi korban menolak dan hanya menyanggupi di angka Rp15 juta. Namun para tersangka meminta Rp30 juta dan para tersangka juga mengancam akan menutup akses distribusi bahan material bangunan apabila permintaan tidak dikabulkan. Kedua tersangka pun akhirnya ditangkap di salah satu cafe di Kawasan Citra Raya. Dari tangan para tersangka diamankan barang bukti berupa uang tunai Rp30 juta, telepon genggam, dan satu bundel kuitansi.
