Ok yeah between this & the fleas rip that carpet up! It’s a small amount of space so you could find some good deals on end roll carpet or flooring at a place that resells spare building material

Depending how long and if they were chainsmokers, then I highly recommend just to pull out the whole carpet completely and spend more time scrubbing down the walls and ceilings

From experience the home carpet cleaner dose not get deep enough to get a smell like that out contact a professional carpet cleaner

They sell a wide attachment for like $20 you can replace the default attachment for!! Highly recommend for larger spaces like furniture, stairs, car seats, etc

I've owned 2 previous heavy smokers homes and the smell does also dissipate with time. not complelty but defiantly time and air flow make a massive difference

I think you just need to pull this carpet out. Strip everything you can out of the house (walls included 🙈)

I would try cleaning with vinegar! And then go back over with the carpet cleaner.

As a long time smoker the one peohve of advice that I have is that coffee smell obsorbs smoke smell. Try getting a natural coffee candle or you can boil coffee grounds
