apart from reflecting how his traumas and habits learned from his sl4v3ry are still latent, it shows that he ended up applying the same system that oppressed him to win over others and get out himself. Megatron knows nothing but vi0lence so it's what he's most used to seeing work, what he uses the most and what was used on him the most. So it was easier to go back to the cycle he wanted to break than to create another way.
