When I was student teaching my students knew I didn't like a particular teacher covering for my mentor Teacher. She would undermine me while I was up front teaching. I mean she would literally call them to the desk and lecture them about thier grades while I was teaching.

If I told a student. Hey that’s my friend my HS would have been like Ms J don’t play. You’re too cool or good for them. So I was always like no rudeness here. And left it there.

I can’t imagine if I’m a kid, expressing how a teacher was in fact mean & disrespectful, and then having a teacher who’s kind be like “that’s my friend” 😐 for why? You fake or sum? Where your morals?

I would let them vent as long as they are respectful & I wouldn't add to what they are saying other than saying "Not even teachers are perfect, we all have different lives & opinions." then move on.
