is there a sign for verbal shutdown? ive heard "nonverbal" is typically for people who can't speak at all, rather than in episodes, and i want to be careful about my vocabulary

I’m not that educated on many things but quick question is it counted as non verbal if you like feel uncomfortable with talking for like a bit but like you could still talk but you feel uncomfortable

i wish i’d seen this before I had a verbal shutdown in the psych ward lol 😅 a therapist literally refused to have a session with me unless i spoke, and told me this ‘only happens with autistic kids’

this is a very specific question. so I have autism and I like to have multiple things playing sounds at once for sensory purposes. and I know that deaf individuals can get overstimulated by that...
