We have a cleanup song at my house for picking up and putting in a basket or container. We still use it. My kids are older. It goes: “Clean up. Clean up. Everybody! Everywhere! Clean up. Clean up. Everybody do your share.”

Dishwashers with the buttons on top can be started before you close it. Gives you about 4 seconds to shut the door after you press start. That way you don’t have to stare so hard under the counter.
